The Polar Bear EMT / Paramedic Cooler is a 24 pack size cooler with cotton duck side pockets for exterior storage. This product is currently being used by the Colorado Springs Fire Department for the use of transporting IV Fluid. EMT and Fire Rescue personnel report that administering IV Fluid that is 45 degree Fahrenheit to a patient, who is being treated for cardiac arrest, reduces the chances of brain damage. The CSFD uses this Polar Bear Cooler product because it’s light weight and durable. We maintain that this product will keep ice for 24 hours in 100-degree heat.

Just wanted to give you an update on our coolers in the fire trucks. We have been over 90 degrees for the past few weeks (I know it’s not Georgia heat, but it’s hot for us). I have had no concerns from my firefighters over the bags not working. The only comment that I have received was that the bags keep the IV fluids too cold and they have ice crystals forming in them. I just might have to get one for keeping my water cool at soccer games. Do you mind if I give your contact information to my medical supply vendor? They are always looking for new products to carry. |
